Adrenaline-fuelled Kart Racing With Damon Hill

On June 22nd the @ChadsanHQ team headed to the Daytona Sandown Park to take part in the fifth annual Damon Hill Karting Challenge!

The race was in aid of the Halow Project, a fantastic Guildford based charity dedicated to helping young people with learning disabilities to live independently. Halow offer various different activities around the Guildford area to help young adults become more involved in the community and also encourage individuals and businesses to volunteer their time supporting these ventures. An opportunity that a number of our team are already exploring.

ome race day the @ChadSanHQ team had called in a ringer in the form of Neil Johnston from @Rocketdesk to make up our five-man team. Motivated by the great cause we were driving for we were only slightly disconcerted by the number of teams that turned up equipped with their own race suits and helmets. We soon shook of our concerns though and with Damon and his fellow show boaters firmly in our sights (at least for the 30 seconds that we sat on the grid) we grabbed our helmets and took to the track ready to bring home the bacon for the bean counters! !

think all the excitement affected our driving a bit and although Matthew managed to avoid the black flag he secured for dangerous driving at the equivalent fixture two years ago, Sean’s multiple spin out’s (see video proof here) were just too much to come back from. End result - a respectable 21st out of 27 teams...we'll get you next year Damon!

All in all it was an exceptional day out. We are very proud to be participating in Halow Project’s events and we look forward to working alongside them in future ventures!

Well done to Halow Project for putting on a splendid event and raising a staggering £16,000 for such a great cause!
